Music Friday!

I have been listening to some new songs thanks to another blogger, Pandora and just searching around the internet.

Here are some of my new favorites:

Angus & Julia Stone: Draw Your Swords from the album Down The Way:
I have listened to the whole album and it's really beautiful.  I can't wait to listen to more of their albums.

This next one is strange to listen to right after the above song as it's almost the opposite feelings/lyrics, but its good, so here goes.

Anthony Green: Only Love (featuring Nate Ruess of fun) off of the album Beautiful Things:

This one came through on Pandora and it's very pretty/haunting.  Reminds me of something/someone but I haven't figured it out yet.

Trifonic: Lies off of the album Emergence:

I think Pandora gave me this one as well.  I really like the lyrics, never heard of the band before, so not sure about the entire album.

Stateless: Bloodstream (I got mine off of the Bloodstream EP on iTunes):

Can't remember how I came across this one.  But I listened to it over and over when I first heard it.  I must be going through a breakup/sad song faze right now!

William Fitzsimmons: So This Is Goodbye off of the album Derivatives:

That's all for now.  Hopefully I will have more time to put this neglected site together.  Have a great weekend!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow: Ammo Shadow Box

Urban Decay Eyeshadow: Ammo Shadow Box: $38 at Sephora, Ulta & Urban Decay.com

This is an interesting palette.  I wasn't initally impressed with it.  Sin is one of my favorite colors, but I already had it from the Naked palette. Colors like Oil Slick, Polyester Bride and Grifter have a lot of glitter to them, which I don't normally like.  Glitter gets everywhere and is too messy.
But I ended up getting it because I really wanted Last Call and it seemed silly to me to buy it at $17 for a single, when you could get 10 colors for $38.  A little more then double the price, but you get 10 times the colors.  I used Polyester Bride and Oil Slick on a Smokey Eye look and they looked great, although cleaning up the fall-out glitter under my eyes annoyed me.  I tried Last Call with a little bit of Grifter and Polyester Bride as the highlight and I really liked it (see pic below).  But I still had more glitter fall-out than I prefer.  Oil Slick is one of the blackest blacks I have used, so I am glad to have it, even if it has glitter.  Overall I am happy with it, as I like all of the colors in it.  I can't wait to try Shattered as it looks like Kiddie Pool from the Sustainable Shadow Box, minus the - you guessed it - glitter!  I wont be getting that palette (Sustainable Shadow Box) as there are too many duplicates.  The only colors I am interested in from that palette you can get in others or singles (YDK & Midnight Cowboy, although I prefer Sellout which is Midnight Cowboy minus the, yes, glitter).

Here are my eyes after about 7 hours of wear.  I used Sellout, a little Grifter and Sin blending and Polyester Bride for the highlighting (Rimmel: Scandal Eyes mascara).

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box

Urban Decay: Deluxe Shadow Box: $38 at Sephora, Ulta & UrbanDecay.com

This is the second Urban Decay shadow palette I bought.  I bought it after I bought the Naked palette because I instantly fell in love with their shadows.  When I was younger and Urban Decay was new I didn't like them much because most of their shadows were too glittery for me.  Now they have shadows with shimmer instead of glitter and I love them.   Oh, and it comes with a travel size primer (original).

Since the Naked palette has natural colors I decided to try a palette from them with some more bright, vibrant colors.  I have used fishnet a lot.  It's a very pretty pinkish-purple.  I also use Scratch, which is third from the right on my arm.  It's a great transitional/blending color.  I have used Zero once for a Smokey Eye look and it's great.  As with most Urban Decay shadows, they stay on all day, I never need to reapply.  It took makeup remover to remove them from my arm, water and soap didn't work, especially Zero.  I haven't experimented as much as I want to with this palette yet, but I plan on using it a lot this summer.

Favorite Lipsticks Right Now

Here are my favorite lipsticks at the moment
  1. NYX Xtreme lip cream in Dolly Girl (XLC01)
  2. Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Adrenaline
  3. Sephora Maniac Long Wearing Lipstick 01 - vibrant iced pink shimmer
  4. NYX soft matte lip cream in Tokyo (SMLC03)
  5. Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Lovechild
  6. NYX Lipstick in Haute Melon (LSS 583A)
I haven't been a huge lover of NYX lipstick in the past but there was a sale at Ulta for 40% off of NYX products a week or so ago so I bought some to try.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I am particularly happy with Haute Melon.  I wanted to get an orange as it's very in right now and it had a great balance between being orange and not going over-board as well as a balance of shine & matte.  I absolutely adore Adrenaline but it's a bit intense, as is Dolly Girl.  But I still love them.  I use the more pink ones the most.  The Sephora pink is probably my most used, then Lovechild. I am very happy with all of them considering I rarely wore lipstick in the past and usually opt for lipgloss and now I have been wearing them every day.  What started my love affair with pink lipstick was Angel by MAC.  I'll probably show my favorite MAC lipsticks on a separate post.  I find MAC lipsticks to dry my lips out a little, but they do have great colors.

Welcome.  This is my first real attempt at a blog.  After seeing a few friends do it, I thought it might be fun.  I buy so much make up, I might as well give my opinions on them.  I am not a professional make up artist, it's just a hobby which is starting to become a passion.
Rosey View was just the idea of looking through rose tinted glasses along with tribute to my grandmother, Rosie who I miss every day.  No matter what type of day I am having, I can play with makeup or hair and put on a great song and just feel a little better.
